    ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT ASSEMBLY AT DPGS ON AUGUST 16

    Grandparents and Parents are Welome to Attend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Deer Park Grade School will be celebrating the outstanding academic achievement of our students at an assembly being held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 16.

    Parents and grandparents are invited, and encouraged, to attend the assembly.

    The following students will be honored for their outstanding state and local test scores including best scores in math and reading as well as outstanding improvement in math and reading.

    We are proud and excited to start the new school year honoring our students for their hard work and achievement!!!!!

     

    The following students will be honored at the assembly- 

    Kindergarten-  Alyssa Bell, Kamisha Jones and Savannah Thomas.

    First grade- Cale Dauber, John Landrum, Elodie Starkey, James Thomas and Gio Zepeda

    Second grade- Gio Eggersdorfer, Mekalyn LIma, Weston Mix, Michael Polich and Christopher Znaniecki

    Third grade- Kane Dauber, Lily Mix, Sarah Polich and Madelyn Starkey

    Fourth grade- Lola English, Wyatt Mix, Santiago Pineda, Jack Starkey and Glenn Weatherford

    Fifth grade- Marissa Eggersdorfer, Garett Keith, Calvin Kudela, Chase Lane, Liam Lemrise, Ava Weatherford and Sora Zepeda

    Sixth grade-  Danny Beavers, Justin Carpenter, Andrea Kerestes, Madeline Kerestes, Sophia Woods and William Znaniecki

    Seventh grade- Isaac Brown, Jacob Frig, Kendal Hutt, Jack Kelly, Kora Lane, Gabe Lemrise and William Mix.

    DPGS Board of Education Considering After School Child Care Program

    Let Us Know If you are Interested

    The DPGS Board of Education, at its' June meeting, discussed the possibility of starting an after school child care program.   If the program is implemented in August, the program will operate from 3:00 to 4:30 pm on Monday through Friday.  The fee per child would be $10.00 for the 1.5 hour session.   

     

    If you are interested in enrolling your child, or children, in the after school child care program,  please contact the school office at 815-434-6930 or email Superintendent Struna at-

    The implementation of the program will depend on the number of students who enroll in the program.

    DPGS82 BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVES ACCELERATED MATH CURRICULUM FOR 7th AND 8th GRADERS

    7th grade pre-algebra starting in the fall of 2019

    The DPGS Board of Education approved the implementation of an accelerated math curriculum beginning with pre-algebra for 7th graders in the fall of 2019.

    Eligibility for students will be based on multiple factors including math grade point average in 5th and 6th grade, AIMS Web test scores in 5th and 6th grade, state test scores in 5th and 6th grade as well as teacher recommendation.   Parents will be notified by June 1 if their child is eligible for the accelerated math curriculum.

    If students enrolled in 7th grade pre-algebra attain a grade point average of at least C, they will be eligible for algebra 1 during their 8th grade year.

    DPGS Board of Education Approves Full Day Preschool Option for the 2019-2020 School Year!

    Half Day Preschool Available As Well

    The Deer Park Grade School Board of Education approved the implementation of full day preschool for the 2019-2020 school year. 

    The current half day preschool option will be available for parents as well.

    The half day preschool option (8:20 to 11:00 am) will include the current morning session that emphasizes literacy, numeracy, thinking and reasoning and self-help skills. The full day preschool option (8:20 am to 3:00 pm) will include the following activities-  lunch, PE, music, art and rest time. We believe that the full day program has a very healthy balance of activities that foster both academic growth as well as social-emotional growth.

     

    RESIDENT STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE FULL DAY PROGRAM ARE ELIGIBLE TO RIDE THE SCHOOL BUS TO SCHOOL IN THE MORNING AND BACK HOME AT 3:00 PM.

     

    The DPGS BOE also approved the following tuition fees for 2019-2020 preschool programs-

    FULL DAY FEES

    5 full days- $330 per month = $2970  ($16.50 PER DAY)

    3 full days- $216 per month= $2592   ($18.00 PER DAY)

    2 full days- $160 per month = $1800  ($20.00 PER DAY)

    Plus registration fee of $75.00

     

     

    HALF DAY FEES

     

    5 half days- $190 per month = $1710 

    3 half days- $132 per month =$1188 

    2 half days- $96 per month = $864    

    Plus registration fee of $75.00
